Voyage Repairs & Support
Lightship understands that it is not always possible to make an operating vessel available alongside for repairs.
Dockside Repairs & Support
Lightship Group routinely performs dockside repairs anywhere on the East Coast, with emphasis on the busy Northeast.

Marine Engineering
In this era of specialization and technology, it is very difficult to find an organization with the knowledge and ability to maintain and repair the variety of equipment found in today's marine environment. All too often, a problem with equipment must first be categorized as mechanical, electrical, control, etc., and then appropriate specialists must be assigned and coordinated. Such activity tends to drive up maintenance and repair costs.

Port Engineers
With over 30 years of experience our engineers have the knowledge and expertise to get the job done.
Vessel Mooring & Heavy Weather Planning
Lightship performs all analysis in general accordance with NAVSEA Design Data Sheet, DDS 582-1, "Calculations for Mooring Systems" to make sure a minimum safety factor of 3.0 times the maximum.

Vessel Operations
whether you need vessel activation, deactivation representation or just a riding crew The Lightship Group has the experience you need.
Technical Support & Services
In this era of specialization and technology, it is very difficult to find an organization with the knowledge and ability to maintain and repair the variety of equipment found in today's marine environment. All too often, a problem with equipment must first be categorized as mechanical, electrical, control, etc., and then appropriate specialists must be assigned and coordinated. Such activity tends to drive up maintenance and repair costs. Lightship stands apart from this situation. The Lightship Marine Engineer is able to identify and resolve many maintenance or repair problems encountered with limited resources, fulfilling the requirements of the independent nature of shipboard operations, coupled with minimal manning that competitive merchant marine operations demand.

Predictive Maintenance
Lightship's engineers and technical services personnel are uniquely qualified to diagnose and repair problems before they fail.
Vibration Analysis
Let us identify mechanical problems using vibration analysis and make recommendations as to the best way to correct them PRIOR to actual machine failure.

Machinery Alignment
Misalignment is the leading cause of machine failure. Proper alignment is a critical process in the fight to minimize machinery "downtime." Improperly aligned machines can cause premature failure of both the drive and driven components including bearings, seals, motors, pumps and couplings.
Lube Oil Analysis
When integrated into a complete preventative maintenance program, will provide advance notice of oil degradation, oil contamination and machine wear. Oil Analysis can be performed by utilizing a variety of technologies.
